    I'm sorry I find it odd that alpha centauri is in the "well" of our own sun. Is it implied that we are in a binary star system?

    Hi, sorry for the confusion. Alpha and Proxima are not in the "well" of the sun. The Sun's "well" begins to the right of Proxima, while Alpha is to the left.
